Meet Jesse Wise

End-of-Life Doula | Community Grief Support | Spiritual Companion

Jesse is a graduate of the Blue Water Doula Collective (BWDC) End-of-Life Doula Training and a Core Member of the Collective. She is actively participating in the BWDC Co-Leadership Grief Support Mentorship Program, where she is expanding her skills in facilitating compassionate, community-based grief support alongside experienced mentors.

Originally from the Appalachian region, Jesse recently made Michigan her home and has found a deep connection to the peaceful beauty of Lake Huron. Her lifelong love of nature, combined with a professional background in environmental outreach and education, has cultivated a gift for connecting with others, fostering meaningful conversations, and creating welcoming spaces for learning and healing.

Drawn to end-of-life care through a growing interest in spiritual and holistic practices, Jesse has immersed herself in the study of Reiki, intuitive development, mediumship, and other healing modalities. This exploration led her to discover a heartfelt calling to support individuals and families through the dying process, helping them approach life's final transition with greater peace, understanding, and compassion.

Jesse's passion for this work is deeply personal. As she prepares to walk alongside her own family during her father's declining health, she has become even more committed to understanding the end-of-life experience and providing gentle, informed support to those navigating serious illness, caregiving, grief, and loss.

As an emerging end-of-life doula, Jesse is dedicated to offering a compassionate presence that honors each person's unique journey. Through her continued involvement with BWDC and participation in the Co-Leadership Grief Support Mentorship Program, she is committed to serving her community with empathy, authenticity, and a deep respect for the sacred nature of end-of-life care.

The BWDC brings together a network of trained doulas who are guided by shared ethics, ongoing education, and a commitment to walking alongside others with dignity and care.

What BWDC offers:

End-of-life doula support and education

Death doula certification trainings aligned with national standards

Community outreach and advance care planning education

A structured membership model for doulas that includes mentorship, collaboration, and professional development

A supportive “Gathering Space” for connection, learning, and shared resources

At its heart, BWDC exists to ensure that no one walks these sacred thresholds alone—while also nurturing doulas so their work remains sustainable, supported, and deeply rooted in purpose.
