The Blue Water Doula Collective supports both emerging and experienced doulas in developing meaningful, sustainable, and ethically grounded practices.

This is more than a membership

It is a space of connection, mentorship, and shared mission.

A place where you are supported as you support others.

There are different ways to be part of the Collective, shaped by your experience, interests, and the level of involvement you wish to have.

The Collective is here to support doulas at many stages of their work — from those seeking education and connection to those stepping into mentorship and leadership.

Participation is not one-size-fits-all. It can evolve as your work deepens and your role within the Collective becomes clearer. The options below offer a simple framework to help you see what your involvement might look like.

Grow in Your Practice

Develop confidence through real situations, shared experiences, and ongoing support. This is not about having all the answers — it’s about building clarity and trust in how you show up.

Learn Through Real Work

Learning here is shaped by what you’re actually holding with families. Through conversation, reflection, and shared perspective, you’ll deepen your understanding in ways that feel relevant and grounded.

Access Tools & Support

You’ll have access to trainings, resources, and conversations you can return to as needed.
Everything is designed to support your work in a way that is practical, thoughtful, and sustainable.

Membership FAQ

Your Questions, Answered
  • Membership payments are processed through our secure website. You’ll be able to choose between:

    • Monthly subscription – billed each month automatically

    • Annual subscription – billed once per year

When you’re ready, you’ll select your pathway, choose monthly or annual billing, and complete payment securely online. Your membership will renew automatically unless you cancel.

  • You can update your membership tier or switch between monthly and annual billing at the end of your current billing cycle.

Because each membership includes access to shared resources and space, any changes should be scheduled to take effect at your next renewal.

    Example

    • Join Tier Two → April 5

    • Request upgrade → June

    • Change takes effect → July 5

If you’d like to make a change, reach out, and we’ll help you make the change.

  • Because membership gives you ongoing access to community, resources, and space, fees are generally non‑refundable once a billing period has begun.

However, we know life and work can shift unexpectedly. If you experience a significant change in circumstances, we invite you to reach out. We’ll review each situation with care and do our best to find a compassionate, fair resolution.

  • Yes. You can cancel at any time.

    • If you’re on a monthly plan, your membership will remain active through the end of the month you’ve already paid for.

    • If you’re on an annual plan, your membership will remain active through the end of your current year.

We recommend starting with a conversation before canceling, so we can explore whether a different pathway, pace, or season of involvement might serve you better.

  • Yes. Once your payment is processed, your membership begins and you’ll receive access to the membership area and shared resources.

  • No. Many doulas begin by attending workshops, gatherings, or retreats before stepping into a membership pathway.

You’re welcome to start with a conversation, ask questions, and get a feel for the Collective. Together, we can discern what level of involvement feels aligned for this season of your work.

  • Yes — access to shared space is one part of deeper involvement within the Collective.

This includes use of space within Huron Point Wellness Center for sessions, meetings, or small gatherings, as well as access to a shared waiting area and, where applicable, support with scheduling and coordination.

Space is shared and scheduled thoughtfully, with the intention of supporting both doulas and the families they serve.

While there is consistent access available, it is not unlimited or exclusively reserved, and is coordinated in a way that reflects the needs and rhythm of the Collective.

  • Referrals within the Collective are guided by both choice and thoughtful matching.

In some cases, families are introduced to the Collective and choose a doula they feel aligned with. In others, we help guide or match them based on their needs, preferences, and the nature of the support being requested.

When matching is needed, we consider factors such as availability, experience, and overall fit.

Doulas in the Mentorship & Leadership Pathway are more integrated into the day-to-day flow of the Collective and are often considered first when coordinating referrals.

Doulas in the Professional & Community Pathway may receive referrals as availability and alignment allow.

Our goal is not simply to assign support, but to ensure that each connection feels appropriate, ethical, and well-aligned for both the family and the doula.

  • You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

The best next step is a conversation. We’ll answer your questions, explore what you’re seeking, and see whether — and how — the Collective might be a good fit.

Start with a conversation → Book a call or send a note to begin exploring your options.

Still Exploring?

You don’t need to step into a membership pathway to begin engaging with the Collective.

Many doulas start by attending:

  • Workshops and trainings

  • Community gatherings and events

  • Retreats and deeper learning experiences

These spaces offer a way to learn, connect, and experience the Collective before deciding what level of involvement feels right.
