Bridging the Gap: How Doulas Can Access Funding for End-of-Life Care

At the Evergreen End of Life Care Foundation, the mission centers on ensuring individuals facing serious illness, aging, or end-of-life transitions can receive holistic, compassionate support regardless of financial hardship. For doulas, this creates an opportunity not only to serve more families, but also to expand accessibility, equity, and community-centered care.

Application Process for End-of-Life Doulas

An End-of-Life Doula may apply for funding on behalf of a client by completing the application link below. Applications are reviewed within approximately two (2) business days and may be approved, denied, or returned for additional information. Current funding rates are $30/hour, with renewals based on available resources and submission of monthly progress reports.

For urgent situations, please submit an emergency request on the link below. Emergency applications are typically reviewed within 6–12 hours when possible. Must be pre-approved.

Doulas may also pre-apply to the Compassionate Fund by submitting required documents in advance with the subject line “Pre-Applying.” Pre-approval helps streamline future requests but does not guarantee funding.

Required Documents

Doulas will be asked to provide:

  • Proof of insurance (recommended but not necessary)

  • Proof of training and NEDA Proficiency (please provide a training certificate. Obtaining NEDA Proficiency badge is suggested but is not required at the time of initial application.)

  • Background check clearance (required)
